Greater China Goes Back to School

It’s that time of year again… crayons, binder, and backpack shopping are in full swing as children across the country prepare to go back to school. In fact, school supply purchases are on the rise. The International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) forecasts that total back-to-school sales will increase by $42.2 billion this year. A survey of shoppers released by the National Retail Federation reveals that families with school-age children will spend about $635 on apparel, shoes, electronics and supplies.

Greater China has already been on the back-to-school bus for months now. We just delivered 240,000 custom backpacks to underprivileged children in conjunction with a program Greater China has been a part of for several years. The backpacks are designed in-house and all come equipped with a school supply kit that includes an eraser, scissors, a pencil pouch and folders. The backpacks delivered to over eight different countries with full safety compliance testing for each country the backpacks went to.
