FAQ

Q: I currently source products through domestic product suppliers for large projects. Why should I consider Greater China as partner for these projects?

A: Most domestic suppliers have a warehouse full of products and focus on a certain product category such as bags or pens. They see importing as a "value added" service and tend take on projects with little or no experience in that product category. Do you really want to go to bag supplier for your remote control car project? Greater China's sole business since 1995 has been to import to the Promotional Marketing Industry. We do not have the overhead of most domestic suppliers nor do we focus on a particular category. Greater China has over a decade of experience in just about every product category. Our Product Sourcing, Project Management and Global Logistics skills provide better service at a fraction of the cost of domestic suppliers.

Q: I've worked with import agents in the past. How is Greater China different?

A: The primary difference is where and how we work. Greater China is a U.S. based corporation whose world headquarters is located in Seattle, WA. In our Seattle office you'll find a sales team made up of ex-distributor account executives, a bi-lingual support staff that clearly recognize the dynamics of the promotional marketing business and a logistical team to manage China port delivery, customs clearance, tariff classification, port availability, and domestic delivery.

Greater China also has a strong foothold in China. Our Shenzen and YiWu offices provides product sourcing, project inspection, audits of factory capabilities, and research of new partner manufacturers.

Our expertise in product sourcing, project management and global logistics provides you with unique items, accurate timelines, and the best market pricing.

Q: How does Greater China ensure efficient pricing?

A: We pride ourselves on our ability to provide competitive factory-direct pricing through direct negotiation with Chinese factory owners and managers; clients experience a significant savings over domestic suppliers, Hong Kong agents, and Asia trading companies. We do not have the overhead of most domestic suppliers nor do we focus on a particular category.

Q: What is Greater China's experience with very tight timeframes?

A: We've actually delivered projects from China to the U.S. in less than a week. Depending on the quantity, the following timeframes are to be expected for West Coast port delivery:

Existing items:
  • 30 days via air
  • 60 days via ocean

Custom Projects (including tooling):
  • 90 days via ocean
(Consumer products that require ACTS or STR inspection or testing may require additional time for completion.)

Q: What is Greater China's experience with very large projects?

A: Our true expertise is managing large contract manufacturing projects where a factory-direct approach yields the greatest rewards in efficiency and pricing. A number of client projects have exceeded 1,000,000 pieces, many have exceeded 500,000 pieces, and most are over 50,000 pieces.

Q: How does Greater China communicate project details to clients?

A: At Greater China your main contact is an account executive who understands, from personal experience, the demands of the industry from both a distributor and end-user perspective. We maintain timelines for all projects that include a complete detailing of materials, decoration specifications, task dependencies, deadline dates, and ship dates. These timelines are provided to clients at the start of each project, and reviewed and amended regularly with you by your sales rep.

Q: My client requires full project inspection and special factory auditing for human rights standards. How does Greater China handle this?

A: We have the ability to inspect client projects not only through our Shenzhen and YiWu offices, but also through independent inspection services such as STR and ACTS. Third party inspection of factory labor and human rights standards can also be audited with full inspection reports furnished to your clients.

Q: What if my client is less than satisfied with the end results of their project?

A: We stand behind the manufacturing capabilities of our factories and offer, upon inspection and agreement of claim, full replacement costs, including shipping.

Q: Does Greater China have any minimums?

A: As a general rule of thumb, purchase orders over $10,000 qualify for direct importing with Greater China. Larger budgets represent an increased ability for Greater China to save clients money through direct factory negotiation on pricing and delivery.

Q: What is Greater China's sample policy?

A: We are happy to provide samples to help you present to your clients and end-users. If we have existing samples in our Seattle office, we provide them for FREE. Samples from proposed manufacturing factories normally take 10-14 days for delivery and require a deposit of $250. A FULL REFUND of this deposit is available upon placement of a project purchase order.

Q: What are Greater China's terms of business?

A: For your first three projects, a 50% deposit is required with a balance due upon delivery or LC at site. We welcome discussions regarding business terms in order to accommodate your needs.

Q: How quickly can Greater China get pricing for my project?

A: Existing items:
  • Pre-negotiated (factory) pricing: 1 day
  • Fully negotiated pricing: 2 days
Custom Projects (depending on scope):
  • Pre-negotiated (factory) pricing: 3 days
  • Fully negotiated pricing: 4-5 days
